To establish a iprima facie /icase that the defendant physician negligently failed to warn the decedent of the signs and symptoms of the risks associated with taking oral contraceptives, the plaintiff was required to present evidence that the defendant failed to provide the decedent with advice regarding any symptoms and risks associated with oral contraceptives that would enable a reasonable patient to recognize the development of, and seek treatment for, such a symptom or risk, and that the failure to advise the decedent adequately was the proximate cause of her injury.
