I made a big mistake the other day. It was Friday, the sun was shining, and, although it was late summer, the weather was pleasant. The weekend promised clear skies and low humidity. I was hours away from a slice of paradise as I walked up the steps to the Danbury courthouse, relaxed, smiling and, truth be told, relieved to have survived another week of slaughter.
