Providing quality public education to America's young has become a national priority, often sparking heated discussion and debate at local, state and national levels regarding how to accomplish this goal.


Colleges Must Keep An Eye On Bond Transactions

Colleges and universities need to have active and engaged finance committees that are able to navigate them through these turbulent fiscal times. One prime example of the risks faced by many institutions that have issued Variable Rate Demand Obligations (VRDOs) is the potential impact of the recent downgrades of credit ratings on many major banks.

Regular attendance is an integral part of any student's ability to be successful in school. Truancy is linked to increased risk for school dropout, delinquent behavior and school failure. The importance of regular school attendance and the perils of truancy have long been recognized by Connecticut's lawmakers, as evidenced by the numerous and varied laws enacted impacting school attendance.
