AVVO, the Seattle-based lawyer rating website, uses an algorithm to rate attorneys on a 1 to 10 scale. Lawyers can greatly influence their ratings by "claiming" their AVVO pages and adding their accomplishments (ranging from bar leadership positions held to legal articles published) and obtaining peer and client endorsements.
