Norm Pattis: Governor Has Final Word On Judicial Pension Measure

Oh, Dannel, what a disappointment you are. The governor's been pumping the judiciary full of geriatric pals, positioning them for $100,000 a year pensions after serving a few short years on the bench. When lawmakers tried to put an end to the practice, the governor's men tucked an amendment onto the legislation. It's politics as usual in Hartford.

Senator Terry Boucher had the best quote from the Connecticut Republican Convention at Mohegan Sun a couple of weeks ago. She said Connecticut is turning into "Detroit on the Sound". Here we are "Detroit on the Sound" with a rapidly deteriorating economy in desperate need of reinvigoration and of state-funded boosting. Malloy is at the head of the sinking ship not paying attention to any of the economic leaks because he is too busy passing out the golden gavels to his political posse. As disappointing as Malloy is and as disappointing as his his goon that changed the language of Sen. Dante Bartolomeo‘s legislation is, there is hope on the flip side that there are maverick legislators out there like Sen. Dante Bartolomeo who are doing fly-bys to the control tower trying really hard to shake things up for the better. Thank you Sen. Dante Bartolomeo for keeping an eye on our state‘s purse strings. Malloy should watch out that those same black robes he‘s been handing out as uber-expensive political thank you notes are not the same black robes that are going to get him hog-tied in this election. There are a lot of barn droppings going on over there in that judiciary barnyard Malloy is shaking his top-dollar chicken feed over. The chickens are eating over at the cow trough while the cows are over at the horse bales. Meanwhile the horses got their noses in the pig pen. The farmer should be mending the fences but is running away with the dish and spoon, and with the whole kitchen sink too for that matter. Mother Goose wouldn‘t keep him. She should put him in the corner.
