The Statewide Grievance Committee can order an attorney's presentment to Superior Court in order to consolidate disciplinary matters. A local grievance panel found probable cause that the respondent attorney violated Rule 8.4 of the Rules of Professional Conduct. Rule 8.4(4) provides, "It is professional misconduct for a lawyer to . . . [e]ngage in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice." The respondent attorney, Rik Bachman, of the Bachman Law Firm in Fairfield, was admitted to the bar of the State of Connecticut in 1998 and already is the subject of another disciplinary matter.
