Stamford/Norwalk J.D. Grievance Panel v. Colbert
The Statewide Grievance Committee can order an attorney's presentment to the Superior Court for discipline, to consolidate disciplinary matters. A local grievance panel found probable cause that the respondent attorney violated Rules 8.4(2) and 8.4(3) of the Rules of Professional Conduct. The respondent attorney, Joseph Colbert, of The Colbert Firm in Wilton, was admitted to the bar of the State of Connecticut in 1992 and already is the subject of another disciplinary matter. In October 2012, Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis ordered an interim suspension. Attorney David Atkins represents the respondent. The respondent and disciplinary counsel reached agreement to present the respondent attorney to Superior Court, to consolidate the disciplinary matters. The Statewide Grievance Committee ordered the respondent's presentment to Superior Court for discipline.
