When it dissolves a brief marriage, a court can award lump sum alimony. The parties met in January 2012 and married in early June. Allegedly, on July 29, the husband placed his hands on the wife, and removed her from the area, when he discovered she had placed his personal items into garbage bags, and the wife struck the husband in the jaw. Police arrested the husband, and he vacated the marital residence. The court awarded the husband the marital residence and ordered the husband to reimburse the wife money she contributed to the purchase. Unless the wife locates the husband's musical instrument, the husband may deduct $4,500 from the reimbursement, because the husband's $4,500 musical instrument was last seen in the wife's possession and cannot be located. The court ordered the husband to pay lump sum alimony of $25,000 within 30 days.
