As stated by the 2009 Connecticut Supreme Court in Conboy v. State, in a situation in which the jurisdictional determination is dependent on the resolution of a critical factual dispute, the court would hold an evidentiary hearing to resolve the dispute; however, this approach is effective only to the extent that the jurisdictional issue may be severed from the merits of the case.
