Editorial: State Must Continue To Protect Gender Identity Rights

Last October, a Connecticut Law Tribune editorial asked "When Will Health Care Be Free From Discrimination?" The Law Tribune editorial asked Connecticut employers to step up and meet the legal and social challenge presented by health-care discrimination and eliminate the blanket exclusions in health insurance policies for gender identity-related medical treatments.

    How do we know "her" allegations have any merit? What "treatment" specifically was "she" refused? It‘s impossible to draw any intelligent conclusions without knowing more about the facts of this case. Transgender identification is a major mental disorder, after all. So how do we know this plaintiff isn‘t just making crazy allegations against honorable health care providers?
